Melissa Hashemi D.M.S

Overview

Melissa is registered by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS). She is licensed by the state of California. Melissa specializes in obstetric and gynecologic sonography, abdominal sonography, breast sonography, vascular sonography, and cardiovascular sonography. Melissa earned degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography  from the West Coast Ultrasound in Beverly Hills. She received her degree the Azad University of Tehran.

After receiving her CCP-HIPAA certification in Patient Handling, Radiation Safety, and Fetal Echocardiography from the University of California, Los Angeles, Melissa had the opportunity to work with patients in a variety of concentrations, including gynecological, prenatal, labor and birth, postpartum, and menopause, cardiovascular, arterial, and vascular in both the private practice and public health settings.

Through administering ultrasound exams, Melissa performs tests that aid in the diagnosing of benign and malignant cancer in various parts and systems of the body. Her experience in aiding in the diagnosis of certain cancers includes: breast cancer; thyroid cancer; abdominal cancer; liver cancer; pancreatic cancer; gallbladder cancer; urinary system including kidney, bladder, cancer of the male and female reproductive system, including endometrial cancer, ovarian cancer, and prostate cancer; colon cancer; small and large intestines; brain, lymph, lung, muscular skin cancer; bone cancer; and arterial and venous thrombosis.

Melissa lost her mother to leukemia in the year 2020, and her 36-year-old best friend and a mother of 2 young girls, in 2019, to breast cancer—because of this, patients who are anticipating a cancer diagnosis hold a special place in her heart. She understands the strife and anxiety that they are going through, and she brings this empathy to her practice.

Her passion for dedicating her life to service in healthcare stems from wanting to help people from all walks of life to understand their diagnosis and to guide them through their health journey. She understands the concerns that arise from receiving a cancer diagnosis, and it is in this area that she is able to bring in her warm and friendly manner to help patients feel comfortable.

Melissa brings a patient-centric care experience to her practice. Along with providing her expertise, she believes in treating all her patients like family, and encourages them to ask questions so as to be completely transparent with them. She is a member of the Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonography and SoCal Persian American Medical Association. Melissa is fluent in English, Farsi, and Turkish.also she is doing professional panting.
