Cooking with Carrie Episode 3 – Hummus


Hungry for Health Recipe

1 can (15 oz) chickpeas (garbanzo beans)

3 T raw sesame tahini

1 T extra virgin olive oil

1 1/2 cloves garlic (diced)

1/2 tsp sea salt

dash ground cumin (optional)

dash cayenne (optional)

3 T lemon juice

2 T water

1/2 T fresh parsley, chopped

pinch paprika


Drain and rinse chickpeas. In food processor, combine all ingredients except parsley and paprika. Process until smooth and creamy. Place in serving bowl and sprinkle with parsley and paprika. Chill before serving.

Yield: 1 2/3 cups
