Dear Susan,
I want to thank you for the help you gave to me last spring as I met a major health challenge. As you might recall I was told that I had severe cervical dysplasia and that I might possibly have cervical cancer. You researched various vitamin and herbal treatments to help me. When I had the loop excision performed, after following the treatment plan you outlined, the oncologist was amazed at how much better my cervix looked than when he did the initial exam. The pathology report indicated that I had CIN III or High Grade Squamous Intraepithelial Lesion, Severe Squamous Dysplasia. Luckily no invasion was seen or evidence of malignancy. After three months I had a PAP smear and uterine biopsy performed and much to my relief, they were normal.
Everyday I count my blessings and I include you and your fine organization in my prayers. Your kind, yet very competent and confident attitude, helped allay my fears and gave me the courage to face my life crisis. I am so grateful that you and the Center for Advancement in Cancer Education are there for people like me. Not surprisingly when I shared some of the information on cervical dysplasia being linked to Vitamin A and folic acid deficiencies with my gynecologist and oncologist, they didn’t seem too enlightened or offer any suggestions for changing my diet to increase my intake of these vitamins.
I’ve attached an article I read in The New Yorker on HPV. It’s a very frightening article, but informative nonetheless. I wish I could exorcise this virus from my body forever. If you have any suggestions, please call me collect and share your insight.
I hope that when I travel to Pennsylvania to visit my family that I can stop by the Center to meet you and personally thank you for your help. I will remain eternally grateful to you for your help and kindness to me.
Most sincerely,
Joyce S.K.
