Right after Thanksgiving, I got my routine mammogram and they found the tiniest of tiniest calcifications. They originally said let’s wait 6 mo. And see what happens. But Dr. Horn—called me the next day and said let’s do a biopsy. OK… no big deal. And then the unthinkable happened, they found Cancer… albeit stage 0! So, Dr. Swistel, a phenomenal breast surgeon @ Weill Cornell Hospital, took it ALL OUT! I was a little sore, but nothing could keep me from coming home.

Just yesterday, I went to a rather remarkable oncologist, Dr. Mitch Gaynor, who had been recommended not only by my 3 docs, but my friend, Dr. Susan Silberstein, head of CACE (Center for Alternative Cancer Education), knows him as well. Susan’s organization, CACE, does so much to help Cancer patients. She spent so much time with me helping me with making my food choices much more healthy and compatible with what I need. She was able to help me make substitutions that are terrific. For example, she told me that Peanut Butter is not good for a cancer patient and Dr. Gaynor wholeheartedly concurred… he said that peanuts are inflammatory and have something else not good for you. So now, I eat almond butter—just as tasty and much healthier. Instead of Splenda, Stevia… which is all natural.
