Six Cancer Myths

The Six Cancer Myths

As many of you know, I am the creator of BeatCancer.org’s Holistic Cancer Coach Certification Program, an online course designed to teach health professionals in 10 hours what it took me 35 years to learn.  One of my graduates, Janet Price, has created an excellent three-hour online training course partially based on my course – but this program particularly targets individuals who have been diagnosed with cancer and the loved ones who support them.  It’s called the Six Cancer Myths, and everyone dealing with cancer needs to know what they are.

Myth 1:  Your Doctors Have All the Answers

Your doctors don’t have all the answers you need, because there is a huge lag time between new methodologies for treatment and the doctors’ practical applied knowledge in the medical field. Progressive oncologists are up to date on how to utilize a variety of new tests for early cancer detection, to monitor the response to treatment, to analyze the effectiveness of common cancer drugs or natural substances for anticancer potency before treatment begins, to monitor early cancer recurrence, to perform genetic analysis of cancer cells to determine targeted treatment therapies, and to determine chemo-resistance markers.

Myth 2:  Your Diagnostic Tests Prove You’re in Remission

A few months ago I interviewed Jenny Hrbacek, RN, who wrote a book every health provider and cancer patient should have, called Cancer Free: Are You Sure? Like Jenny, Janet asserts there are other, newer tests besides PET scans, CT scans, and MRIs.  These non-invasive tests can offer individuals true early cancer detection and confident monitoring that can pick up micro-metastases long before standard scans can discover disease spread, while you still have time to initiate an immune-boosting program to prevent a measurable recurrence.

Myth 3:  Insurance Covers All Effective Cancer Tests and Treatments

There are many uncommonly-known but very effective tests and therapies that are not covered by insurance yet may be affordable. They include personalized targeted therapies based on the molecular profile of a patient’s individual tumor, as well as viral treatments for cancer. Janet provides methods and resources to find additional funding for legitimate and cutting edge cancer tests and treatments not covered by insurance.

Myth 4:  A Cancer Diagnosis is a Death Sentence

As I often say, “cancer is just a word – it is not necessarily a sentence.” A diagnosis of cancer does not have to be a death sentence. Thousands of people with poor prognoses are recovering from cancer as a result of new resources and committed personal efforts. Cancer is able to take hold when the body’s immune defenses are malfunctioning, and cancer itself can alter several of the body’s many metabolic pathways and further disrupt your body’s built-in defenses. Janet’s course will show you what steps cancer cells takes to override your defenses, so you can understand what strategies you should implement to block cancer activity. Cancer patients also need serious and controlled detoxification to heal from cancer and its destructive treatments. The Six Myths course will help you to manage the effects of toxic cancer killing strategies.

Myth 5: Focusing on Killing the Cancer Will Get You Well

Many sad patient stories contradict this myth. If you do not repair your immune system and address the underlying causes of cancer – most of which are in your control — you will be extremely vulnerable to more aggressive disease or recurrence.  While oncologists target the tumor, patients need to focus on changing poor dietary and lifestyle habits, reducing toxic environmental exposures, and resolving emotional issues that contributed to their disease. Because it is crucial to understand the factors that negatively affect immunity and cancer cell growth and death, this course provides an extensive list of questions concerning your environmental choices and lifestyle adjustments, as well as explanations, recommendations and considerations for each of these questions.

Myth 6:  How You Think and Feel Has Nothing to Do with Your Cancer

This section explores the connection between stress and cancer and introduces listeners to Psychoneuroimmunology (PNI), the field of science relating to how thoughts and emotions directly affect the immune system. Participants will learn about the powerful role of emotions in both causing and eliminating cancer and be able to recognize specific stressful feelings and emotional patterns occurring over years that researchers have clearly identified as cancer-promoting.

This Course Benefits Everyone

For all of the above empowering reasons and more, I whole-heartedly endorse this course! In addition to helping cancer patients directly, Janet’s program will also help support BeatCancer.org’s patient services– for which we are most grateful.  As Janet kindly wrote, “Because of Dr. Silberstein’s knowledge and experience (which is enormous), the incredible organization she has built, and the lives she has saved, I am personally committed to support the Center for Advancement in Cancer Education by donating a portion of all proceeds from my course.” This support will enable BeatCancer.orgto continue to offer to cancer patients highly skilled counseling services on a donation basis so that no one will ever be turned away for inability to pay. Thank you, Janet!

In addition, Janet has generously offered a 25% discount to Beatcancer.org supporters who sign up for her course.  Just go to this link, and after you provide your user ID and password you will be able to click on REDEEM COUPON.
