Rosemary
2013-10-8Rosemary is related to the mint family. It has very potent antioxidant properties, in part because it is a good source of the vitamin E family. Rosemary is immune protective and an estrogen blocker, which can help protect against estrogen sensitive cancers. Rosemary oil has been shown to protect the liver, and to have anti-mutagenic, anti-tumor, anti-biotic, and anti-viral properties. Caution is given in overuse of rosemary in pregnancy. Rosemary leaves can be used to flavor extra-virgin olive oil, or in soups, stews, and with root vegetables.
